Eraser Race / 消しゴム取り

Goals: Drill vocab and pronunciation while practicing listening.

Preparation: 1 eraser or small object for each pair

目的:習った単語の復習と新しい言葉の発音練習

準備 : 生徒は二人一組、又は三人一組になる。各グループにつき一つ消しゴムを用意する。

Eraser Race

  • Students are in pairs, (one group of three is okay if there’s an odd number).
  • Each group needs one eraser, but any small object will work. They put this between them, and then put their hands on their head.
  • When the teacher says the keyword or phrase, they must grab the eraser. The student that gets the eraser before their partner is the winner.
  •  The students repeat whatever words, phrases or minimal pairs the teacher says, but when they hear the keyword, they try to grab the eraser.

Variations:

  • Adjust keyword or phrase accordingly. For higher levels, choose a category of word. For example, every time the teacher says an adjective.
  • With numbers you can get them to grab the eraser for any number over 50 etc.
  • You can also get the students to grab the eraser when the teacher uses incorrect grammar. For example, beautifuler.

消しゴム取り

  •  消しゴムを二人の間に置き、手は頭の上へ。
  •  教師は事前に決まった単語、又は文章を生徒に伝え、それがキーワードとなる。教師がキーワード以外の単語、又は文章を言うと、生徒たちはその発音を繰り返す。
  • しかし、教師がキーワードを言うと、生徒たちは素早く消しゴムを取る。これを早く取れた者が勝ちとなる。

変化形:

  • キーワードか文章を生徒のエベルに合わせる。難しくする場合はキーワードではなく、言葉の種類を選ぶ。例えば、先生は何でも形容詞を言う時、消しゴムを取る。
  • 数字を練習したいなら、50以上の数字で取る。
  • 先生は間違えった文法を使う時に消しゴムを取る事もできる。
